The first purchasers at our Thorsten Fields development in Congleton have officially opened the new four bedroom ‘Locke’ and ‘Wollaton’ showhomes after they were invited as special guests of our North West team. Closs and Rebecca Birkett bought a ‘Forbes’ three bedroom home at the new development in March and will be able to move into their new home in June.   Lucy McCabe, Sales Director for the region said: “Since Closs and Rebecca had bought their home even before our show homes had launched, we wanted them to be at the heart of our celebrations alongside The Mayor Rob Moreton and Cllr Mark Frederic Hill who represents Congleton, some of our suppliers, and staff from our regional head office. We were delighted when they accepted our invitation to launch the new showhomes in Congleton as the first members of our new community here.”   Closs said: “The showhomes launch was exciting and inspiring and we were honoured to cut the blue tape with the Mayor and meet some of the wonderful people that are helping Congleton flourish. We felt like VIP’s! We chose Congleton because we wanted to stay in a safe part of rural Cheshire which values diversity in its community and fosters a positive environmental impact.    “We also wanted a new build property that was both energy efficient and modern, a blank canvas to turn into something special. For us first-time buyers, Thorsten Fields and the Forbes townhouse was an affordable choice that perfectly suited our needs. The three bedrooms are split nicely across the two and a half floors, making them larger than you’d find in a typical two storey house style, perfect when we found out how big our master bedroom would be. We are so excited to move in and are counting down the days!“   We are building a mix of 154 two, three and four bedroom homes at Thorsten Fields, all with electric vehicle (EV) charging points and solar PV panels as standard.

In little over a month’s time on 15th June, five members of our Eastern team will taking part in a skydive to raise funds for mental health charity, Mind. Ruby Lord, Craig Attmere, Steven Downes, Sean O'Sullivan and Jamie Hammond aim to raise at least £2,500 between them to provide important funds for the charity’s work of supporting people’s mental health across England and Wales by making mental health an everyday priority, whilst also standing up to the injustices in healthcare, work and law which make life harder for those impacted by mental health problems. The money raised will also help the charity continue it’s vital work of offering help whenever it is needed it through information, advice and local services, and by bringing together an unstoppable network of individuals and communities – people who care about mental health to make a difference. Ruby said: “We are really passionate about raising funds for this important mental health charity – passionate enough to leap from a plane! We really appreciate any donations, no matter how small, to help us reach our target. Thank you in advance for any support.” Click here to donate: https://lnkd.in/dK9A7URw #bloorhomes #mentalhealth #charityfundraising #fundraising

One of the oldest bowling clubs in the country has received a sponsorship boost from our Exeter region. Founded in 1901, Cullompton Bowling Club is considered one the finest in Mid Devon and is located just a mile and a half from The Meadows, our new development of two, three and four bedroom homes close to the town.   Steve Stack, Club Captain at Cullompton Bowling Club, said: “We are undergoing major improvements at the club and would like to thank all our business sponsors, including Bloor Homes, for their generous support. The improvements include vital safety updates including the ongoing refurbishment of the ladies changing area and fresh paint both inside and out.”   Sara Parker, Sales and Director for the Exeter region, said: “We are great supporters of grass roots sport and we are always keen to partner with local clubs in the areas in which we build. Cullompton Bowling Club is not only just down the road from The Meadows, it has a really lovely community feel of its own as a welcoming place for players and through its social events. We really like that and are really pleased our donation will help with the Club’s ongoing refurbishments.” Stephanie Ubl #grassrootssport #sportsponsorship #localcommunity #communitysupport #newhomesDevon #Cullompton #Devon

Staff at our Pinhoe development close to Exeter have celebrated a 100% satisfaction score from customers who purchased a new home there, when asked in an independent survey by the National House Building Council (NHBC).   The score is based on individual customer responses after they move into their new home and supports NHBC’s purpose of ‘raising standards in house building by championing high-quality homes and protecting homeowners, through training and quality services and by assessing, inspecting and directly insuring new homes registered with them’.    Congratulating the team, Bradley Davison, Managing Director for our Exeter region, said: “The entire team at Pinhoe should be extremely proud – from the site team building our new homes here, the sales team supporting people on their customer journey, and those providing customer care throughout, this team has demonstrated what can happen when everyone puts the customer at the centre of everything they do. It has been such a pleasure to read all the customer feedback from the survey. Well done.” #newhomes #ukproperty #newbuildhomes #qualityhomes #customersatisfaction #excellence #quality #fivestar #BloorHomes

This week our South Midlands team hosted a Women in Planning Design Code Workshop, organised by the region’s Strategic Planning Manager, Katie Coles MSc MRTPI.   The first of a series of events for 2024, the session was organised by the South Midlands Women in Planning Committee and delivered alongside planning, urban design and landscape architects, Define Planning and Design Ltd, who spoke about the role of Design Codes and changes to recent national policy and planning practice.    Define also ran an interactive workshop and panel discussion, with key input from ALISON WOOD from Huntingdonshire District Council. Alison provided a Local Planning Authority perspective on how Design Codes can shape place-making and community creation.   Welcoming attendees from various Planning and Development disciplines, including private consultancy, private developers, local authority representatives, and urban design architects, the event was a huge success.   This event was organised by Women in Planning South Midlands. Our South Midlands region has made extensive improvements to a pedestrian pathway close to our Winslow Grange development.    The improvements came about following discussions between representatives of the Town Council and our regional team over the poor condition of the existing public footpath. Our contractors were instructed to resurface the footpath with stone, provide timber edgings and cut-back over-hanging vegetation to provide a safe route for pedestrians.    The works took almost five weeks to complete at a cost of c.£55,000. Cllr Colin Bishopp (Mayor of Winslow and Chairman of the Council), Cllr Trish Cawte (Chair of Winslow Town Council’s Development Committee), Cllr Richard Hamley and Charles Loch (Town Clerk) visited Winslow Grange to see the completed path improvements.   Mayor Bishopp said: “I am delighted to see developer contributions being used to bring a much needed but badly deteriorated public footpath back into year-round use. The path makes a significant contribution to the town’s walking and cycling facilities and its reopening is of great benefit to the whole Winslow community, and not only the residents of the nearby estate. It has been a pleasure to work with Bloor Homes on the project.” #communitysupport #BloorHomes

Nine year-old student, Isabelle from Ledbury Primary School was invited to officially launch our Western team’s showhomes at The Arches at Ledbury after winning a competition to design a bedroom.   Our interior design partner Claude Hooper Interiors took inspiration from Isabelle’s pastel, nature-inspired design to create a bedroom in the four bedroom Verwood showhome. It features a wall mural based on Isabelle’s drawing of a rainbow chameleon, rainbow décor and Isabelle’s suggestion of a bean bag bed for a ‘feline friend’.   Sally Holt, Regional Senior Sales Manager, said: “We were very impressed by the significant effort put into all of the entries we received, from Harry Potter inspired drawings to 3D models, but Isabelle’s vibrant room design was lovely and bright, and the pops of colour blended perfectly with the rest of the showhome’s interior scheme.”   The Verwood is one of three showhomes at The Arches showcasing the new two, three and four bedroom homes at the development, as well as energy efficient and sustainability features such as solar panels, Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers and a higher insulation specification. The showhome launch has been a huge success, with two homes already reserved. #community #bedroomdesign #competitionwinner #showhomes #showhomelaunch #schoolengagement #designwinner

Our East Midlands region has donated £500 towards a physiotherapist’s campaign to improve Leicester Royal Infirmary’s gym equipment in the department, with the aim of supporting the excellent care the hospital’s physiotherapists give patients in Leicestershire. Mike Lucas is raising money by running in the London Marathon in April for Leicester Hospitals Charity. He said: “I really appreciate Bloor Homes’ support towards helping me reach my goal of raising £15,000 to carry out improvements to the physiotherapy gym equipment at Leicester Royal Infirmary. “I work as a MSK specialist physiotherapist for Leicester’s Hospitals, so I see first-hand the incredible work that our physiotherapists do in supporting patients in the area. Our trust has authorised some structural renovation work to our gym, but I am determined to raise more funds for equipment and ensure our gym is a truly top-class space to support the work that is being done in the department. “Promoting Physical Activity in this manner is supported by the strategies of Leicester City Council, Public Health and the Integrated Care Board. With training to run the London Marathon in April, it’s a busy time and very tiring – but the end result of improving our facilities here at LRI will be so worth it.” Clare Bright, Sales Director the region, said: “What an amazing feat Michael is carrying out, and for such a good cause! When we heard about his mission to raise funds, we knew we wanted to help in any way we could. We immediately pledged £500 and are also looking into more ways to support the cause over the coming months. We have several sites in Leicestershire and the surrounding counties, so it makes total sense for us to support Michael’s campaign. We wish him the best of luck and look forward to continuing to help him reach his goal.” Anyone wishing to support Mike’s London Marathon fundraising bid, see the link here: https://lnkd.in/dU_EQ8rq #community #communitysupport #wellbeing Leicester Hospitals Charity

🌟 Today we’re celebrating a sixth consecutive year of quality recognition as a Five Star developer by the Home Builders Federation (HBF). 🌟 The coveted Five Star status is dependent on an impressive 90 per cent of purchasers who bought a newly built home from us (Oct 2022 -Sept 2023), and who completed the HBF’s National New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey, stating that they would recommend Bloor Homes to a friend. 🌟 In a joint statement, Divisional Chairmen, Andrew Marns and Richard Oldroyd at Bloor Homes said: “Every year developers look to the annual results of the survey as they give a very true, industry-wide benchmark of customer satisfaction. To have over ninety per cent of our customers happy to recommend Bloor Homes is something all the teams across all our regions should be very proud of. It is a testament to building quality homes and ensuring the customer remains the focus of what we do.” 🌟 Five Star status shows our passion for building quality homes and providing superb customer service, also evident in the number of NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards received by our site managers across the country last year. 🌟 A huge well done to everyone across the company! Some of the youngest residents at our ‘Bloor Homes at Thornbury Fields’ development were invited by the sales team to help plant new bulbs in the lovely green areas at the site. Sisters Gabby and Lexi, who both recently bought new three-bedroom family homes there brought along their children - Gabby’s son Rocco and Lexi’s children Romy and Lucia - to help with the planting. Stephanie Ubl, Sales Manager for our South West region, said: “It was great to have such enthusiastic young helpers along to help with the bulb panting, which will bring a splash of colour to our lovely green spaces at Thornbury Fields – thank you to Gabby, Lexi and their lovely children for taking part. “We always love it when families move to the same Bloor Homes development to be close to each other and become part of a lovely new community. In this case the children will grow up together here too. Now they can watch the flowers come up every year for the whole community to enjoy, and remember a fun morning planting them with our team.” The volunteers were joined by Bloor Homes’ Sales Advisor Kathy Burgess who came up with the idea, Site Manager Alby Morris, Assistant Site Manager Lynden Thomas, Landscaper Mike Healey, and Frankie the dog! #newhomes #community
