Your Total Guide To lifestyle
Each season Bath Rugby works with four charities from the local area to support their fundraising efforts. The charities benefitting from Bath Rugby’s support last season were Bath Rugby Foundation, Cancer Research UK (Box & Corsham branch), First Steps Bath and Bath Mencap & Gateway Sports Club.
Like previous years, the money raised was divided equally between the designated charities, and representatives for each of them were at the game against Scarlets last weekend to be presented with their fundraising.
Former Bath Rugby, England and British & Irish Lions player Lee Mears was on hand to make the presentations.
Bath Rugby Foundation – the Foundation work towards enhancing the lives of young people in the vicinity through sport, and in particular those from a disadvantaged background. They aim to raise self esteem and motivate young people through educational achievements and improving their social skills.
Cancer Research UK – fighting for a world where no one’s life is cut short by cancer. Each year their scientists get closer to finding cures for cancers. Cancer Research UK funds over half of the UK’s cancer research, including the life-saving work of over 4000 scientists, doctors and nurses fighting cancer on all fronts.
First Steps Bath – Their mission is “to work in partnership with children, families, colleagues and the community by being responsive, informed, reflective and innovative provider of early years’ education, childcare and integrated family services”
Bath Mencap & Gateway - They work in partnership with people who have learning disability, and all their services support people to live life as they choose. Everything they do is about valuing and supporting people with a learning disability, and their families and carers.
Bath Rugby give thanks to all their outgoing charities for their hard work and wishes them good luck with all their on-going fundraising efforts.
And they also give another thank you to all those who gave so generously on a matchday – their support really made a huge difference.
