Your Total Guide To family

Total Guide to's Hayley O'Connor to Complete Skydive for Jessie May

Total's Business Development Manager, Hayley O'Connor, will soon be taking to the skies to complete a charity skydive, raising money for Jessie May. Please read her story and donate what you can.

When asked why she was putting herself through this challenge, Hayley had this to say:

"I have been blessed with a beautiful family. One girl, Lola, who is 8 and a boy, Brodie, who is nearly 3. When Brodie was born, he spent most of his early months in hospital due to severe breathing problems. We spent a good few months yo-yoing back and forth until the last time he was admitted he was struggling bad.

"It all happened so quickly, from being taken in to rushed into the recess theatre. My beautiful little boy was screaming and we just had to stand back while the doctors did what they could to bring him to a stable condition. Still to this day I can remember every detail & taste the fear and helplessness that washed over me thinking that this could be the day that I lost my ray of sunshine.

"We were lucky. Although Brodie must take medication every day to keep his breathing stable, he is here and growing up, filling our lives with joy and laughter.

"I came across Jessie May due to my job at Total Guide to, I had never heard of them until now. I was completely blown away by the courage of the families and nurses that use this charity and the services they provide. I wanted to do something to help them. No parent should have to go through the loss of a child it just doesn’t sit right with the balance of Mother Nature herself.

"So, I committed to a skydive, because I am terrified of heights but the bravery I need to do this challenge is nothing compared to the bravery that these families face every single day.

"Help me raise awareness of this wonderful charity and donate what you can because really every penny counts. It doesn’t change what happens to these poor children, but it can make it easier to deal with, knowing that someone is there and someone cares."

Hayley will be completing a tandem jump from 13000ft  after 30 minutes training with the instructors on Sunday 4th June at  Army Parachute Association, Airfield Camp, Netheravon.
