Festival season '13 is well and truly upon us. From WOMAD to Camp Bestival, there really is something for everyone, whether you're a festival first timer or a seasoned pro, picking the right festival can make or break your weekend.

So, where should you go, who’s headlining and how much is it going to cost you? Here’s our pick of the best local festivals…

WOMAD at the Zoo

WOMAD at the Zoo

When: 22nd June

Where: Bristol Zoo

Price: £22.00 Adult / £5.00 Children

Two stages playing host to a selection of brilliant musicians from across the world.  Workshops for the children will turn your little monkeys into little gorillas once they're finished.  Parts of the zoo will also be open late for you to visit some of the animals on a beautiful evening filled with smells, sights and sounds to give your senses a right good shake up!

Glastonbury

When: 26th - 30th June

Where: Worthy Farm, Pilton

Price: £205, with under-13s going free

One of the biggest music and contemporary performing arts festivals in the world.  Headliners on the Pyramid stage this year are Artic Monkeys, The Rolling Stones and Mumford & Sons.  The massive line-up also includes Dizzie Rascal, Primal Scream, Chase & Status and Ben Howard plus many, many more of the biggest acts around.

Party in the Park

When: 13th July

Where: Galhampton, Somerset

Price: £18.00 Adult / Under 12’s - Free

The Lightening Seeds will headline this years Party in the Park with an acoustic set which will no doubt include some of the band’s 90s hits. With Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs, covers band Full Tilt and Luke Stidson aka Twin Falls, there promises to be something for everyone at this fun festival known for it’s locally sourced food and friendly atmosphere.

Where: Charlton Park, near Malmesbury

WOMAD, World of Music, Arts and Dance, is an internationally established Festival bringing together artists from all over the globe.  This year's line up includes Arrested Development, Rokia Traoré and Alice Russell.

Farmfestival

When: 26th - 27th July

Where: Gilcombe Farm, Bruton, Somerset

Price: £50.00 Adults (wknd) / £35.00 12-17s (wknd) / Under 12’s - Free

A sponsor free festival, where the organisers believe in a genre defying selection of alternative music, amazing charities, local produce, and good times set to the backdrop of beautiful Somerset.  With live acts including wordsmith Ghostpoet, Art Brute, French dance rockers Black Strobe and new British four piece Mt. Wolf.

Camp Bestival

Where: Lulworth Castle, Dorset

Price: Adult (including camping for 4 nights) - £190

Four magical days of entertainment for the whole family.  Kids will love the live performances by Horrible Histories, Mr Tumble and Dick & Dom in between riding go-karts and bikes, playing on bouncy castles, or getting involved with a theatre workshop.  Live music from an incredible line-up including Richard Hawley, The Proclaimers, DJ Fresh, Labrinth and a DJ set from organiser Rob da Bank himself will make sure everyone has an amazing long weekend.

Cloud Cuckoo Land is an intimate and community-focused celebration of arts, music and culture. A not-for-profit event, with all proceeds donated to Brake the Cycle, a small charity seeking to empower young people and inspire sustainable living through adventure.  Music from an eclectic mix of live acts including DJ Switch, John Fairhurst, Super Ape and Smertins Anti-Social club.

Watchet Festival

Where: Watchet, Somerset

Price: Adult tickets from £20.00 (day) / £45.00 (weekend)

Watchet Music Festival is run by Watchet LIVE Community Interest Company (CIC). Any profit made is used to fund and provide free admission community events and is also donated to local groups or charities within the local area that that CIC recognises need help.  This year headline acts include Dreadzone, The Hoosiers and Showaddywaddy.
