Go for a walk

Now the government advice is to avoid busy areas and practice social distancing, however, this doesn’t mean you have to remain locked in your house 24/7. Providing you’re not self-isolating due to concerns you may have Coronavirus, getting out for a walk in the countryside surrounding Bath is the perfect activity to clear your head and stretch your legs. Bath is home to some amazing walking routes, so make sure to check out our Top 10 Walks in Bath article here.

Have a movie marathon

It’s rare to be cooped up in our homes this much, so why not make the most of it and have a movie marathon of your favourite film series! If you’re a Harry Potter fan then spend some time with the family working your way through all eight films and immerse yourself in movie magic.

This is a great way to keep your mind busy whilst self-isolating and will take your thoughts away from the worries of the outside world. If you’re not a movie lover then take the time to work your way through a television series. With so many on-demand streaming services now available, there really is something for all tastes.

Get in shape with home fitness

If staying at home all the time is giving you cabin-fever, then working up a sweat and burning off some calories is a great idea. Something as simple as heading out for a run - providing you’re in open space - or even setting up a mini-circuit in your sitting room or garden is an easy and effective way to take the stress and boredom out of self-isolating.

If you’re not sure what exercises to do, there are plenty of great exercises videos on Youtube and other places online.

Re-Decorate

How often have you thought about re-decorating the house but then realised you don’t have the time? Well now that you’re stuck at home, this is the perfect opportunity to slap on a new layer of paint or maybe even re-wallpaper the sitting room.

Whatever your re-decorating plans are, the National Self-Build and Renovation Centre in Swindon are here to help and are still open to the public, however extra hygiene measures have now been put in place at the centre.
