Life in the Old Dogs!

A new sports programme for the over 50’s is being launched at Bath Sports Centre on the 9th April 2019.

The sports are exclusively for people over the age of 50 and are Team Sports including Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Netball and Indoor Cricket.

This new activity will take place indoors in the main sports hall and be competitive games of 6 a side every Tuesday afternoon from 2.30pm and Thursday mornings from 9.30am.

This is not walking sports but designed to re-introduce the over 50’s to fun and competitive team events.

Anyone over the age of 50 in ‘active condition’ is encouraged to take part.

The event organiser, David James said ‘todays 60 year old is the new 40 and people this age can be very active and easily capable of playing team sports’. Mr James continued ‘why shouldn’t the over 50’s take up team sports again; going to the gym, cycling, etc are excellent ways to keep fit but you can’t beat team banter, fun and competitive games to feel alive!’. Participants will also be encouraged to take part in social events outside the sports hall creating a new network of friends.

All abilities, and fitness levels are welcome to join in. Individual participating players simply book a place on-line and turn up. Players will be put into teams on arrival. There is no joining fee but places are limited to 12 per game and cost £5. Allocation is on first come basis. For more information about the programme go to www.lifeintheolddogs.com
