SCCC's 2014 Awards Ball A Great Success

For SCCC supporters the Colin Atkinson Pavilion at the County Ground was the only place to be on Saturday evening with Club hosting their 2014 Awards Ball- and what an evening it was.

The players and their guests were joined by members, supporters, friends and officials for an evening of celebration, presentation, reflection and anticipation.

If that's not enough there was also a special guest in attendance, SCCC bowling legend Joel Garner who talked about his time at the Club during the Glory Years which held the attention of all the 250 who attended the spectacular event.

The evening kicked off with a VIP arrival before a champagne reception in the Long Room where musical entertainment was provided by the Kings College band.

Guests then made their way to the County Room where the candelabra laden tables set the tone for the rest of the evening.

A sumptuous four -course dinner was interspersed with the presentations of the 2014 Awards along with an interview with Joel Garner.

During coffee a numerous cricketing items were auctioned and the winner of the Grand Prize Draw was announced, after which CEO Guy Lavender said farewells to those levaling SCCC, such as Steve Kirby and Andy Hurry.

The action didn’t stop there as the guests then returned to the Long Room where there was live music from the Gershwin Gang.

The event was hosted by Spencer Bishop and Ian Burrage who kept proceedings moving and made sure that the guests were entertained through the duration of the event.
