Have your say on Bath city centre Georgian building being transformed under new plans

A group of Georgian buildings in the centre of Bath could be transformed into short-term accommodation if new plans get the go ahead.

7-9 North Parade Buildings, which are situated near the Bath Abbey and Parade Gardens, have been up for sale since 2022 - having previously been used as office spaces.

The planning statement, which lists planning consultancy group Union Four Ltd as the applicant, reads: "The Bath office market has not been immune from the impact of the recent pandemic.

"The city has a high-quality workforce centred on finance, professional services, IT and the tech industries. This type of office occupier is highly adept to adopting hybrid working practices with firms cost-saving through reducing their office space footprint. [...] This has led to an over supply of Georgian office stock."

The statement continued: "The central location, lack of car parking and limited external amenity space, has negatively impacted that desirability of Nos. 8 and 9 being restored to the two town houses that were permitted in 2023 as part of a mixed-use scheme."

You can have your say on the planning proposal until Thursday, November 7.

The council are looking to make a decision by Wednesday, November 27.
