MATCH REPORT: Maidenhead 2-1 Bath City

Bath City fell to a 2-1 defeat away at Maidenhead on Saturday which now means they have not won in the league for over a month.

Harry Pritchard gave Maidenhead the lead with 27 minutes on the clock courtesy of a 35-yard wondergoal that Max O'Leary in the Bath goal had no chance of keeping out.

Dave Tarpey doubled the hosts' advantage in the 58th minute in more fortunate circumstances.

In a bid to stop the forward, Bath defender Manny Monthe slide tackled Tarpey, but that only resulted in the ball going past O'Leary which left Tarpey with the simple task of banging in number two from just a yard out.

Monthe got Bath back in the game though with 25 minutes remaining with a slammed shot into the bottom corner after a neat turn and finish, but it was to no avail as Maidenhead held out for the win.

Bath matters were not helped, however by Frankie Artus getting sent off for two bookable offenses.

City would have been left wondering 'what if' at full-time too, as, in the 12th minutes Andy Watkins saw his penalty saved.
