Will Chudley

TGt Meets... Will Chudley, Bath Rugby

It's a new season for Bath Rugby and we're looking forward to it already! Ahead of the 2018/19 Gallagher Premiership season, we are proud to announce Total Guide to Bath will be the shirt sponsor of new #9 Will Chudley! We sat down with the former Exeter Chief to learn a little more about him.

In what we're hoping will be a fantastic season for the boys in the blue, black and white, we caught up with new addition, Will Chudley. Having won the Premiership in 2016/17 with West Country rivals Exeter Chiefs, Chudley was snapped up by Bath Rugby in the offseason. We're excited to announce that we'll be getting to know Will a lot better over the coming months as shirt sponsor, so we decided to have a quick chat!

How are you finding your new surroundings?

When I first came to have a look around, I knew what to expect. The facilities are world class, there were a lot of good people there, everyone was really welcoming and there was a really positive environment. It’s also an environment where I feel I can get better.

Who has stood out to have been the biggest surprise in training?

I wasn’t surprised in the fact that I knew there were so many world class players here, so to see so many in the same environment and conducting themselves so well on and off the pitch, that’s the biggest learning curve for me.

What are you aiming to bring to the team for your first season?

To be a guy who’s willing to work hard for the team, to have their back on the pitch. I also bring a bit of tempo when I’m on the field.

Where have you been spending your free time in Bath?

The coaches have had us in most days in pre-season, so we haven’t had much time to have a look around Bath. I went on the tour bus yesterday, with my partner to see the culture. I’m slowly finding out different things to do from speaking to the lads.

Had you been to Bath much before moving up here?

I’ve been up to Bath a few times when I played at the Rec, and I’ve also been up for a few day trips, so maybe three to four times.

What do you like to get up to when you’re not playing rugby?

I’m usually playing golf, we have a few golfers here, Darren Allison, Jack Walker, Jack Wilson and a few others. So hopefully we can get some golf in over the season. Other than playing golf, you might find me in a coffee shop - standard rugby player really.

Which TV shows have you been binge watching recently?

I've been loving Power.

Desert Island Dish: If you could only eat one thing for the rest of time – what would it be?

It's got to be caramel ice-cream.

A huge thank you to Will and to Bath Rugby who gave us time to chat during a busy pre-season. For all the Bath Rugby info you could possibly need, check out our Total Guide to Bath Rugby by clicking the panel below.
