TGtB Meets...Yammo - Bath Life Awards Special

Following their win at the Bath Life Awards 2015, we caught up with the team at Yammo to find our more about winning Best Restaurant..

Congratulations on your win! Tell us a little bit about your business?

Yammo is a Neapolitan Street Food Kitchen and Pizzeria on Walcot Street.  We believe in bringing seriously good, totally unpretentious food to our customers tables (or homes with our delivery service!), all served up with good old dose of genuine Neapolitan Hospitality.

What does winning this award mean for you and your company? 

It means SO much to us!  We’ve all worked so hard to make it what it is.  We were doing something quite different from anyone else, and we knew we were taking a risk to keep to the true Neapolitan way of serving excellent food in simple surroundings. For our work to be recognised like this, by the judges, is the best endorsement we could imagine!

How are you planning to celebrate your victory?

We celebrated pretty victoriously on the night! We also took the team for a day out clay pigeon shooting.  To be honest, I think every day since has been pretty celebratory, the team is so happy with the achievement!

Business is clearly booming, why do you think so many people visit Bath?

Bath is just beautiful, there is the natural beauty of the valley and hills and then there’s the architecture too.  The people are friendly; it also has an absolutely superb variety of cafes and restaurants. I couldn’t think of another City in the UK I’d rather live in.

What's your favourite thing about Bath and why?

It’s strange because while both Naples and Bath are exceptionally beautiful, and we love Naples for so many reasons, probably the things we love most about Bath are those which make it the polar opposite of Naples, it’s calm, small, quiet – and safe!
