Rebekah Roy Comes to Bath in Fashion

Top London stylist is coming to Bath in Fashion 2016 to create catwalk style.

Top stylist Rebekah Roy has been commissioned by Bath in Fashion 2016 to create runway looks for the Bath in Fashion headline catwalk shows.  Working with catwalk producer John Walford from London Fashion Week, Rebekah is in the process of visiting all 35 Bath stores which will represent the Bath fashion scene on the Bath in Fashion catwalks in the glamorous Assembly Rooms.  Her role is to create looks that encapsulate their style of the Spring/Summer ’16 season and show off the best of Bath retail.

Bath in Fashion is managed and funded by the Bath Business Improvement District supported by with SouthGate Bath and more than 120 Bath businesses to put the city in the fashion spotlight.

Bath is the ideal backdrop for fashion according to Rebekah. “Bath is such a beautiful, romantic city – it has always loved fashion.” she says. “Bath in Fashion brings out this sense of pride in it being such a fashionable city.  When I go into any of the shops they know all about Bath in Fashion – everyone in so excited about it”.

Rebekah is enthusiastic about retail in Bath “what stands out for me it is the customer service which is so different from London.  The impression I get is that retail is seen here as a professional not just a job.  I really look forward to coming to Bath to work with the retailers who are so friendly to me and provide such outstanding customer service”.

Fashion is about a sense of arrival of the new season and Rebekah is working with 20 retailers to create the Spring/Summer ‘16 shows on Wednesday 19th April sponsored by Great Western Railway who will be revealing their brand new uniforms on the catwalk.

Bath independent Nicholas Wylde has helped to shape the Designer Fashion Shows on Friday 22nd April which are themed around the colours reflected in the many facets of a diamond.  This sparkling occasion will include a guest set by Zandra Rhodes from her pop-up shop for Bath in Fashion 2016  in Blue. There will also be a snapshot of the fashion of the future provided by special guests Cute Circuit, world leaders in the field of “wearable tech” and who will also be participating in a Wearable Tech Masterclass.

Rebekah has also visited Artizan on Bartlett Street, to discuss hair for the shows and is talking to NARS in Jolly’s who are doing the models’ make-up.  “Creating a catwalk show is as much about behind-the-scenes preparation as how the models walk down the runway – everything must be perfect” she says.

The programme for Bath in Fashion 2016 is bigger and better than ever before bringing top fashion designers with a global reputation like Julien Macdonald, Zandra Rhodes, Erdem and Nicholas Oakwell as well as thought leaders from the world of fashion.  Rebekah says “it is extraordinary to have such an amazing line up this year.  I think the designers like coming to Bath; it’s such an inspiring place to be”.  Her “top pick” for the fashion week is the talk on The Dress of Cecil Beaton by Ben Wild in conversation with Tim Walker “Tim is one of the world’s great fashion photographers” according to Rebekah.

Rebekah Roy is a leading London-based fashion stylist and creative director whose work has appeared in magazines around the globe.  She has worked as a stylist with celebrities including Kate Moss, David Gandy, Kate Nash, The Feeling, Sophie Ellis Bexter, Daisy Lowe, Becca Dudley, Kaiser Chiefs, Madness, and Billy Idol, and on corporate campaigns for Harvey Nichols, Ascot, Hitachi, Samsung and BT. She is currently creative director of luxury menswear magazine, Candid and fashion director of Disorder Magazine.
