Gill left to ponder missed opportunities as Bath City held by Weymouth

Manager Jerry Gill rued missed opportunities as Bath City were left to ponder a 1-1 draw against managerless Weymouth.

In front of 1,945 at Twerton Park, skipper Joe Raynes was on hand to tap in from close range and put his side 1-0 up.

But having wasted opportunities to double their advantage, the Terras responded through Ezio Touray to earn a point.

Assessing the game on Bath City’s official YouTube channel, Gill said: “I don’t feel we quite did enough to get the three points.

“Credit to Jase (Matthews) and to Weymouth, they worked tirelessly throughout the game, stayed in the game.

“But in all honesty we had an opportunity to score, make it 2-0, we didn’t take it. There were a couple of half-chances as well.

“You get that feeling in one of these games. You’ve been around long enough and we were chatting on the bench with the lads.

“No blame is put on any individual at all, we were just saying in key moments of the game we need to put it to bed.”

The point left Bath eighth in the National South table, one place and three-points behind seventh-placed Aveley in the play-offs with two games in hand.
