Home boy Kane Palma-Newport commits to Bath Rugby

Tighthead prop Kane Palma-Newport has extended his contract with Bath Rugby, and will remain with his home town club for another two years, the Blue, Black and Whitevhave today officially confirmed.

The 25-year-old hails from Bath and rose through the Academy, making his Premiership debut in the 2010-11 season.

Palma-Newport is approaching 60 appearances in the Blue, Black and White – having spent successful loan spells in the Championship with both Leeds Carnegie and London Welsh – and also captained the Bath United side that lifted the 2013 Aviva A League trophy.

"I'm delighted to be spending the next two years here at Bath,” said Palma-Newport.

“This is my hometown and I am honoured to have the ability to go out and represent it, and the local support I have received over the years made the decision incredibly easy.

"I have worked hard over the last couple of years to develop myself on and off the field and am very excited to continue doing so," he added.

Neal Hatley, Bath Rugby First Team Coach, added: “Kane’s developing into a very good player who has benefited from some invaluable experience during his time here, despite still being a young prop.

He’s a local boy who understands the essence of Bath Rugby, which makes him an asset to the team."
