Fashion Your Future

Fashion Your Future puts careers in fashion centre stage at Bath in Fashion 2016.

Bath in Fashion has announced the line-up for Fashion Your Future, a free career forum for young people interested in pursuing a career in fashion. The panel will share their experience and opportunities in the world of fashion from buying and merchandising to styling to pattern cutting and fashion design.

Chaired by Louise Pickles, who heads up the successful Fashion Design Course at Bath Spa University this event is back by popular demand. Louise explains “Fashion Your Future has been an important part of the 'Bath in Fashion' programme since the event started seven years ago. It gives young people, and anyone interested in fashion, the chance to hear first-hand about an array of different roles within the fashion industry from industry professionals, and gives the audience an idea of what it takes to work in this extremely exciting, competitive and fast paced industry.”

Bath in Fashion is managed and funded by the Bath Business Improvement District supported by SouthGate Bath and more than 120 Bath businesses to put the city in the fashion spotlight. SouthGate Student Night will also be popular with students and there are £5 student tickets available for every event in the Bath in Fashion week-long programme which runs 18th to 24th April. See bathinfashion.co.uk for details (subject to availability). Bath Spa University is running a series of four talks at the Bath School of Art Design celebrating Pattern including “Eley Kishimoto; The Patron Saint of Print”; “Paternity”, Pattern at the Fashion Museum and “Discover Darkroom”.
