Last week Florence, Liz and I made a brief appearance on Channel 4's very moving Old Alone and Stuck at Home. I felt very humble to appear with such amazing, inspiring and brave people. I particularly liked Sally's sentiments at the end of the programme when she expressed the desire for a new epidemic of kindness spreading across the land.
Talking of inspiring people it was great news last week to hear Captain Tom Moore has received a knighthood. Congratulations Sir Tom - a very well deserved honour to an amazing man who has lifted the Nations' spirits during these unprecedented times.
Had another lovely window visit last week from my two precious girls Florence and Liz. It is such a joy to see them and Florence was really excited to receive two books, which we had left outside for her. She is turning into a real bookworm like her Nanny! Hopefully it won't be too long before the visits are not behind closed doors and windows or via the medium of Skype.
One of our favourite treats on a Spring/Summer weekend is to drive into The Cotswolds for a delicious traditional cream tea, so this Sunday we had our own cream tea at home and it was yummy. Regarding the great jam or cream first on the scones debate I have always favoured the Devon way. Traditionally people in Devon spread clotted cream first followed by jam, whereas the Cornish tradition is to spread the jam first with the clotted cream on top. Whichever method you choose it is equally naughty but nice!
Well that is it for another week.
Stay safe and well.
Love Patricia
