Eco Tub business sponsors local village fête for the second year in a row

Cotswold Eco Tubs were recently the headline sponsor of the Southrop village fête for the second year in a row. The show featured a spitfire flypast from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight followed by a spectacular aerial display courtesy of the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team – the team’s only appearance at a village fête this year.

The company, which is based in the village, first became involved with the fête after being approached by one of the organisers.

“We were approached by a local lady who helps organise the fete. We had only had our business based in the village for a few months,” said Lauren Cleary of Cotswold Eco Tubs.

“We love chatting with local people and enjoy the beautiful surroundings (the fête is held in the grounds of the Thyme Estate, which has its driveway opposite ours). We love sitting on a straw bale, enjoying a glass of Pimms, while the children explore the fun selection of games.”

What does the show mean to Lauren and the Cotswold Eco Tubs team?

“We’ve enjoyed bumping into several customers there over the last two years,” Lauren says. “It’s a really enjoyable day and we’d recommend it as a day out. This year’s standout moment was the parachute display – it was incredible to watch.

“We have some really positive support from the village and so we think it is imperative to return the support where we can. It’s a fabulous day for bringing the community together.”

As well as the flypast and parachute display, this year’s visitors enjoyed country dancing from pupils at Southrop Primary School, a dog show, a coconut shy, classic cars, a silent auction and It’s a Knockout with inflatables.

All proceeds from the day were split between the Primary School, St. Peter’s Church, the village hall and the Jubilee Playing Field.

The fête has been such a success for the village and for the company that Lauren said they are looking forward to sponsoring the event for many years to come.

The inspiration for Cotswold Eco Tubs came from a glamping trip in 2017. Based in the Cotswold village of Southrop, the company offers a range of wood-fired hot tubs that are made to accommodate from two to 10 people.
