Top 5 Facebook Hacks You Might Not Know Exist

Facebook unquestionably leads the way in the world of social media, that’s why they boast 1.23 BILLION active users every single day. They’re a constantly evolving platform, releasing and rolling out new features all the time. So here is a list of our top five features you might not know are there!

1. Utilise the ‘Call to Action’ Button.

This unassuming little button at the top of your Facebook Page holds more power than you may think. You can set this button up to do a load of different jobs, depending on what you’re looking to get out of your page. You can set it up as a simple ‘Contact Us’ feature, linking to your Facebook Messenger, email address or even a ‘Call Now’ button that dials your business phone number direct from the Facebook app! You can also set the button up to link through to videos, your website, or contact forms for email sign ups and lead generation.

Just hover over your button > Select Edit Button > Choose your desired call to action.

2. Set Up an ‘Out of Office’ for your Facebook Messenger

Facebook have introduced their new Inbox, which lets you deal with Facebook, Pages and Instagram messages all in one place (which is handy!) but a Page Messages feature we find really useful is the Response Assistant. This easy to use feature lets you set up an ‘out of office’ style message to people that send you messages outside of the hours you’re regularly checking your inbox. Not only is this good customer service, letting your customers know you’ve seen their message, but it also generates an auto-reply that keeps your page responsiveness score up!

Go to Settings > Messaging > Response Assistant (Jump to Section)

3. Add Services your Facebook posts

Telling people all about your products is a massive reason why you’re on Facebook, but did you know there’s a way to attach a link to your Services Tab directly on your Facebook posts? The Services Tab (on the left-hand side of your page) is a useful feature where you can publish information about the products you sell, including an image, description and pricing. But there’s also the option to pin a link to these Services directly on to your posts, which means you don’t have to take up precious words in the post itself. Once posted, the Services are clickable at the bottom, and you can cycle through all the Services you’ve added to the post.

When you’re composing your post, select Tag a Product > Select your product from your list > Select as many as you like!

4. Make the most of 360 photos

Adding a 360 photo needn’t be difficult. There are a lot of new, expensive 360 video cameras that are becoming more and more popular, but if you use a smartphone then it’s more than likely that you can create and share a highly engaging 360 photo for your Facebook Page. If you take a panoramic photo and upload it to Facebook, look out for the 360 logo in the bottom right-hand corner, this means that in the newsfeed, your page users will be able to use their finger – or the accelerometer in their smartphone – to move the image around. Perfect for virtual tours of your business, or just out and about!

Create Post > Add photo or video > Select panoramic image > Look for 360 logo > Facebook does the rest!

5. Reorder the Tabs on your Page

As discussed above, Facebook has many features, which are all located on the left hand side of your page in the form of Tabs. The order that they are placed in corresponds to how they will appear as you scroll down your page. You may want your Events to go at the top, or your Videos, then your Posts. No matter which order you want them to appear, make sure you consider exactly what your customers are going to your page for, and give them the easiest way to do so.

Settings > Edit Page > Click and drag to reposition Tabs.
