About: Arguably Bath’s most famous walk, the Bath Skyline is a fantastic adventure-packed nature trail loaded with activities for the whole family to try. The 2-mile family discovery trail features a magical search for the Long Wood elf and fairy foray, challenges to complete as part of their ’50 things to do’ and even a woodland play area to let the kids blow off steam in. Inside the woodland area, you can also see some local wildlife and enjoy discovering some of Bath’s nature.

Newton St Loe Circular

About: Boasting a stunning lake packed with fish and acting as a natural habitat for lots of wildlife, Newton St Loe Circular is a fantastic nature trail near Bath that is perfect for exploring all year round. This beautiful walk is a great place to spot ducks, swans, and even sheep, making it one of the best family-friendly nature trails near Bath. 
 
Have fun exploring the 3.5km route and watching birds, interacting with the wildflowers, and feeding the ducks on this nature trail tucked away in the village of Newton St Loe. When you're finished on your walk, head into the nearby farm shop for a coffee and bite to eat.

Kelston Circular

About: Located halfway between Bath and Bristol, the Kelston Circular nature trail is better suited for older kids due to some of the uphill stretches on the walking route. Offering spectacular views of the surrounding areas, Kelston Circular boasts expensive fields and bushes, trees, and flowers that are loved by the local wildlife. Bird watching is a popular activity along the nature trail with many wildlife lovers heading to the area on nature trips.

Lansdown Walk

Family-Friendly: Yes

About: Providing stunning views of Bath and South Gloucestershire, Bath Lansdown is a great nature trail walk featuring wild animals, dense woodland to explore, and even takes you directly past Bath Racecourse. The walking route is both child and dog-friendly with plenty of areas to let your dogs off the lead.

Keep an eye out for wild deer, birds, and occasionally sheep and cows. Free parking is available in the lay-by near Sir Bevil Grenville’s monument, and also in the small car park near Pipley Wood.

Golden Valley and Wick Quarry Nature Circular

About: This picturesque walking route near Bath and Bristol is a brilliant child-friendly nature trail for all of the family to enjoy. A patch of paradise near Bath, Wick Golden Valley nature reserve boasts a 4.5km nature trail consisting of two beautifully maintained bodies of water, ancient woodland trees and a plethora of wildlife to spot and take pictures of. The paths are accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs and also is a great place to walk the dog.
