Bluebell Woods in and around Bath
It’s that time of year again where we’ll be blessed with a carpet of purple in the woodlands around Bath as the bluebells crop up again. Whether you’re looking for the best possible photography opportunities or you just fancy a walk through the sweet-smelling violet woodlands this Spring, here’s where you can find them in Bath!
Bathwick Wood
Bathwick Wood is a National Trust owned wood located just north of Bath University and is a haven for bluebells come April/May. Follow the trail through the shady woodland and immerse yourself in the gorgeous purple blanket of seasonal flowers. It’s brilliant for dog walking and provides an easy walk for the whole family. It is also steeped in history with quarries too - so there's lots to see!

Leigh Woods
Although it’s a bit of a drive out of Bath and into Bristol, Leigh Woods is well worth visiting if it’s bluebells you’re looking for. Based just a stone throw away from the world-famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, Leigh Woods makes a fantastic walk for families, couples and dogs and is a hotspot for photographers. There are various picnic spots too so you can sit down, put your feet up and take in the fresh air and bluebells.

Vincients Wood
Vincients Wood is an easy drive towards Chippenham and makes a fantastic afternoon out for all the family. Although the nature reserve is fairly small and unknown to most local people, it's a lovely circular trail and has several picnic spots and seating areas. As well as a gorgeous carpet of bluebells on show, the woodland has thousands of years of history, dating back to the 1600's.
