Children’s charity Jessie May and Clifton Down Shopping Centre to host partnership launch event

Bristol-based Jessie May invites public to launch day at shopping centre

Bristol-based children’s hospice at home charity Jessie May is inviting people to attend the launch event of their partnership with Clifton Down Shopping Centre during a special awareness day.

The charity, whose nurses provide vital respite care and emotional support to families with a terminally ill child, was recently selected as the shopping centre’s nominated charity.

To celebrate this local support and kick-start the charity’s partnership, Jessie May will be welcoming visitors to Clifton Down on Friday 17th August and raising awareness of the vital work their nurses are doing locally.

Jessie May is inviting the public to visit their stand in the shopping centre and learn about what the charity provides to local families, including emotional support, end of life care, and bereavement support, alongside family events.

Chris Roys, CEO at Jessie May, said: “We are still over the moon that the shopping centre has chosen Jessie May as their charity of the year, and are excited to work with the team in the coming months. We’re already planning some really exciting events and are extremely grateful of their support and passion about Jessie May.

“We’re really looking forward to meeting everyone on our official launch day on August 17th. This is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness of what our nurses are doing in the homes of terminally ill children, but also to celebrate this fantastic partnership and engage with Clifton Down Shopping Centre’s visitors.”

Charlotte Jarrett, Centre Manager of Clifton Down Shopping Centre, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the launch event of our partnership with Jessie May in-centre on 17th August. We see it as the start of an exciting journey alongside this deserving charity and look forward to creating awareness and raising funds for them through a variety of joint initiatives.”

The Jessie May team will have a stand at the shopping centre on August 17th, from 11am to 2pm, and 4pm to 6pm.
