August 2022 – Five-star hotel The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa, Bath has announced the appointment of Helen Griffiths as its new Spa Manager, with immediate effect.

With over 20 years’ experience in the spa industry, Helen started out as a spa receptionist with Centre Parc’s where she then re-trained to become a beauty therapist, progressing to spa manager within five years.  Following this, she continued to train in other therapies such as ayurvedic massage and worked for Sanctuary Spa,  London where she supported the openings of three city spas. For most of Helen’s career, she has worked as Spa Director at the Accor brand Mercure in Bristol where she worked with a range of skincare brands including Elemis, Decleor, Temple Spa, Phytomer, and Sisley.

Upon starting her new role at The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa, Helen’s key focus will be to continue to provide an exceptional spa experience for guests and members at The Spa & Bath House while maintaining the spa’s reputation as a top destination spa.  She will also be responsible for managing the operations of the spa and gym facilities, overseeing memberships, looking after guests, health & safety, team training and welfare and managing spa partners and products.

The hotel’s key spa partner is Elemental Herbology which provides the very best face and body treatments for guests.  Taking inspiration from traditional Chinese medicine, the Elemental Herbology products relate to each of the five elements: Wood (rejuvenation), Fire (zest), Earth (balance), Metal (detoxifying) and Water (soothe).  A popular treatment is The Five Elements Aromatherapy Massage where blends of essential oil infusions are used along with warm herbal steam towels, heated stones and skilful therapeutic techniques to deliver the ultimate massage.

On her appointment, Helen Griffiths comments: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be working at and leading the spa team at The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa.  It is such an iconic hotel and already has such an impressive reputation as a hotel spa destination.  I look forward to sharing my expertise with the team and bringing fresh new ideas to the table.”

General Manager, Lorraine Jarvie also comments: “I’m delighted to have Helen onboard and heading up the team at the hotel’s spa.  She has some impressive experience and I look forward to seeing how she grows the team and develops the spa experience over the coming months.”
