Nationwide Document Management Team raise £2000 for local Swindon & Wiltshire Hospice at Home

Nationwide Building Society, Document Management Team have been supporting local charities for some years, through fund raising events via its Social Investment Committee.

The staff nominate charities with either personal connection or charities they are passionate to support. The Social Investment Committee Team will then select a chosen charity from the shortlist and then look to raise as much as possible for the charity over a quarterly period by organising raffles, cakes sales, quizzes, car washes or any other activities to generate funds for the chosen charity.

In September 2018, Nationwide Document Management selected Jessie May Trust to support as its chosen charity and events were organised to raise a total amount of £2000 for Jessie May Trust.

Swindon and Wiltshire Partnership Officer at Jessie May, Debbie Clark, said: “We are absolutely thrilled Nationwide Document Management Team had chosen to support our charity and would like to say a huge thank you to the team for their fantastic support. The hard work of the team has raised awareness of our nurses’ vital work, as well as the funds need to keep our charity going.

“While our Swindon and Wiltshire nurses have a great base close to Swindon town centre, they spend the majority of their time in the homes of local families caring for a terminally ill child. This is key to their work – offering parents a well-deserved break in the comfort and safety of their homes, in the child’s own surroundings. But they cannot continue to provide this support without help from the community and businesses like Swindon’s Nationwide.
