Somerset CCC Team Up With The Met Office

Somerset County Cricket Club have teamed up with the Met Office, arguably the most knowledgeable source when it comes to the weather, to find out if, how, and why certain conditions affect the game-play.

The British weather is always a hot topic of conversation, particularly at cricket grounds across the nation.

Cloud cover, clear sky and of course the old enemy rain will make its presence known on the field of play, but just how much does the weather forecast affect the decisions of those in the sport at the highest level?

So in order to find out, Somerset CCC teamed up with the Met Office, the organisation who monitors the weather in the UK, who visited The County Ground for the day. Former England International cricketer Rosalie Fairbairn, who now works at the Met Office, spoke with Marcus Trescothick and Head Groundsman Simon Lee in a bid to find out whether the weather affects their preparation.
