The Future of the Top Streaming Series Set in Bath

Streaming has made a huge difference to the entertainment industry across the planet, with Bath being no exception. As well as giving local residents a new way of viewing their favourites, this has also meant that the city is now featured in several series that we can find online.

Bridgerton

Bridgerton has been one of the biggest success stories for Netflix, with fans already looking forward to a fifth season from Netflix. The large number of well-preserved buildings around the city made it the perfect choice for showing the fabulous homes owned by the wealthy and powerful families in the series, and we expect to see more of them in the new season.

Places featured include Holbourne Museum. Abbey Green, and the Royal Crescent. Indeed, the success of Bridgerton has led to increased interest among tourists in seeing Bath’s historic attractions. While it’s difficult to judge the full impact this has had on the city, the presence of Bridgerton-themed walking tours shows us how keen people are to see the locations of their favourite shows.

McDonald & Dodds

The first three seasons of this show can now be viewed using the ITVX streaming service. Based on a crime-solving couple played by Tala Gouveia and Jason Watkins, this show has been a huge success and has shown Bath to an international audience. As for chances of being renewed for a fourth season, this was confirmed by ITV earlier in the year. At the time, the series creator Robert Murphy said that it was a privilege to return to Bath to cook up more puzzles as well as develop the characters further.

Season four of McDonald and Dodds has no confirmed cast list, although it would be a major surprise if any of the main characters were missing this time. With no release date yet mentioned, it may be 2024 or 2025 when we get to see the next season on ITV before it moves over to the streaming platform.

Other Ways Streaming Has Changed Our Entertainment

Bath has traditionally been the home of several casinos, and this is another part of the entertainment sector to move online. With Bonusfinder UK - online casinos such as Grosvenor and BetVictor are accessible and offer welcome bonuses, allowing anyone in Bath to try their games. While they offer a selection of slots, the streaming comes from the live dealer games where the action is carried out in a studio.

The series we looked at have shown us how Bath can be used as the setting for globally popular TV series, with older examples including Poldark on Amazon Prime and The Remains of the Day on Netflix. However, it’s also helped to move hobbies such as playing games and watching sporting events online. For example, PRTV streams the Bath rugby games that aren’t shown on BT Sport or ITV.

With streaming now more important than ever before to the entertainment industry, expect to see new shows filmed in Bristol and also new options for local residents looking for modern ways of enjoying classic hobbies.
