Tom Heathcote to Leave Bath Rugby

A highly promising young player, Inverness-born Heathcote came through the Bath Rugby Academy to make over 50 appearances in the Blue, Black and White, scoring over 370 points in that time.

 

Commenting on his decision, the 22 year old said: “This was a really hard decision for me to make – I’ve played all my senior rugby at Bath and have had some fantastic experiences here. I haven’t been able to get the game time I’d have liked this season though, and if I’m to push on with my career and playing for Scotland I need to be playing regular rugby. I’d like to thank everyone connected to the Club for the amazing support I’ve received since I joined the Academy, and I’ve no doubt the current group will improve even further next season.”

 

Mike Ford, Head Coach, added: “We’re really sad to see Tommy go. He’s a fantastic young player and a true professional at a young age. He was keen to move to help further his international career before the Rugby World Cup and we didn't want to hinder his chances of playing for Scotland. I’m sure the move will help him reach his full potential, and we wish him all the very best at Edinburgh.”
