Bath Rugby are back in training as the new season approaches

BATH RUGBY have today announced that they have resumed training ahead of the new Gallagher Premiership season that is set to begin on Friday 20th November as the new national lockdown comes into effect.

With elite sport excluded from the restrictions applied by the latest national lockdown, Bath Rugby have begun to train in preparation for their season-opening game against Newcastle Falcons.

Having last played on 10th October, losing against Exeter City in the Premiership playoffs, the blue, black, and white players have had a short turnaround period of rest before the start of the new season.

Speaking on the clubs virtual company update yesterday, Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper said:

"It’s a short window of preparation ahead of a new season, but we have an incredibly competitive squad.

“There are a lot of young men desperate to pull on the blue, black and white jersey and look forward to playing on the 21st November.”

Bath Rugby also announced that the 19/20 season award dinners will take place virtually on the clubs social media platforms from 1pm so make sure to tune in to them and see the winners of the clubs most prestigious awards.

The club also announced that they are working hard to put plans in place to welcome fans back to The Rec as soon as is safe to do so.
