Bath Rugby blitz Sale Sharks 30-3 at the Recreation Ground
Bath Rugby made it five wins from their first six games of the 2016-17 season with a convincing win against Sale.
The Blue, Black and White were 7-0 up before the five-minute mark via Matt Banahan's third-minute try and George Ford's conversion a minute later.
Sale reduced the deficit to four points with Will Addison's penalty on the quarter-of-an-hour, but that was all the away side managed for the entire 80 minutes.
Ford kicked over a penalty to make it 10-3 two minutes before half-time and then the hosts enjoyed an even more impressive second half.
Another penalty from Ford extended the lead to a further three points seven minutes into the second period but Bath had to wait until just before the hour for more points - a third Ford penalty. 16-3.
Kahn Foutali'i scored number two of three Bath tries in the 61st minute, which Ford converted and then Kane Palma-Newport bagged his second try of the season in the 66th minute and Ford was perfect with his kick again.
