Bath Rugby claim derby day bragging rights with 15-6 win at Gloucester
Bath Rugby left Gloucester with smiles on their faces as they won the closely-fought West Country derby 15-6.
Tries from Anthony Watson and Man of the Match Matt Banahan were the difference at the Kingsholm, as Gloucester were restricted to a kicking game due to failing to score a try.
It was a penalty that gave Gloucester the lead just after the half-hour mark when James Hook kicked over for James Humphrey's side to finally break the deadlock.
The second half, however, was a more open affiar, if only slightly, starting from George Ford's drop goal six minutes after the half-time break that levelled the score at 3-3.
Three minutes later though Gloucester regained their three-point advantage Greg Laidlaw's penalty, but after that it was all Bath in terms of scoring.
After 62 minutes Anthony Watson scored the first try of the match, which Ford failed to convert but regardless it had Bath ahead - 8-6.
Banahan went over for a try of his own six minutes before the end to all-but secure the crucial win for the away side, and that was further implied as a result of Ford's conversion to make it 15-6 which was the final score.
