Bath Rugby edge past Exeter in second West Country derby of the season
Bath Rugby won their second West Country derby of the season on Sunday afternoon as they just about overcame the Exeter Chiefs 13-10.
A last-gasp try from Semesa Rokoduguni sealed the points for Bath in a tight and tense derby at Sandy Park.
The first half was a low-scoring affair, but one Exeter edged in terms of score courtesy of Gareth Steenson's penalty in the 16th minute - the only points seen in the entire opening half.
Bath levelled the scores four minutes into the second period with a penalty of their own, however, from George Ford.
Ford has been linked with a move away from the Recreation Ground in recent weeks as talk that he will be reunited with his dad Mike at French outfit Toulon rumbles on, but the Geordie only had eyes for the Blue, Black and White on Sunday.
He kicked over his second penalty of the afternoon on 66 minutes to give the away side the lead for the first time.
Mitch Lees clawed the Chiefs back in front on the 70-minute mark though with his try that Steenson converted for 10-6, Exeter.
Rokoduguni was on hand to claim maximum points for Bath though with his try in the dying seconds. Ford converted too to give Bath the 13-10 win which kept them in the title hunt at this early stage.
