Bath left to settle for point against Hemel

Brad Ash saw his first-half penalty saved as Bath City were left to settle for a goalless stalemate against Hemel Hempstead Town.

Ash’s attempt from 12 yards came after Luke Russe was brought down in the box at Twerton Park.

But the former Weymouth man was denied by goalkeeper Jameson Horlick, who managed to tip the ball onto a post after 37 minutes.

The closest Darren Way’s side came to a winner in the second half was when Mitch Beardmore’s strike hit the woodwork.

The point left Bath 16th in National League South, nine points clear of the relegation zone with five league games of their campaign remaining.

The Romans make the trip to Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday (3pm).
