Cooke insists Bath City are 'in a good place' after three wins in a row

Goalscorer Cody Cooke sent Bath City on their way to a third league win in a row before insisting: “The group is in a really good place.”

The former Truro City and Weymouth frontman slotted in a 10th-minute strike against Dartford at Twerton Park to earn his team a 1-0 victory.

Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel post-match, Cooke said: “It was a really good win. That’s three on the bounce now in the league – the group is in a really good place.

“To get another goal to keep that momentum going with goals and assists is a great start and we just continue the momentum.

“It’s a good feel at the moment, so we are just going to keep going as we’re doing.”

Victory put the Romans sixth in the National South table, with 50 points from 30 league games played.

And 30-year-old Cooke believes the atmosphere in the club’s dressing room is a key factor in their impressive run of form.

“We haven’t got any egos, we are all one group together,” he added.

“I’m sure the new boys who come in will sort of feel that and get a hold of the group quite early.

“There are a lot of boys who have been here a little while now and that does help. I know that was sort of the message from the club in terms of pre-season – we wanted to keep the group together as much as we could.

“We have managed to keep the core of the group together, add quality in places and you can see that.”
