Junior hockey thriving at Team Bath Buccaneers

Team Bath Buccaneers Hockey Club have welcomed the continued support of local financial services company Fidelius for their successful junior hockey programme.

This season Fidelius has supplied complete sets of home and away shirts for both boys and girls in the U14, U16 and U18 teams. The sets have been supplied by John Moore Sports, also based in Bath.

Buccaneers’ Junior Academy enjoys a vibrant membership of more than 350 hockey players aged from five to 17, supported by an enthusiastic team of coaches and managers – most of whom are parents.

The club will once again compete in the Avon League and all the England Hockey Competitions in which they have achieved notable success in recent seasons, with the U12 Boys, U18 Boys and U18 Girls taking national titles. Last season saw the U14 Boys reach the national finals and finish fourth overall.

Fidelius will also sponsor the popular Buccaneers-run Junior Hockey League for players aged from seven to 12. Entries have risen to 36 teams for the 2016-17 season and all matches will be played at the University of Bath Sports Training Village on Sunday mornings, starting in early November.

Team Bath Buccaneers Chairman Nick Kendall said: “Our Junior Academy and Junior League are vitally important to the future of the club and we welcome the enthusiastic support of Fidelius for a second year. This helps us with our continued development plans.”

Buccaneers also run eight men’s and five ladies’ senior sides. For more information, contact Nick Kendall on [email protected].
