A GPX file of the route is shared with confirmed attendees before the event. Participants are expected to be self-supported and bring suitable equipment (including a helmet) and be prepared for mechanical issues en route. Weather can be changeable; suitable clothing is recommended.

Refreshments: Tea, coffee and cakes are available before the ride, with warm soup and a bread roll on return, plus time to chat bikes and routes.
