Charlie Attwood, part of the British Swimming National Centre Bath training group, enjoyed a double success in the 19+years 100m and 200m breaststroke, clocking winning times of 1:00.82 and 2:12.11 respectively.

Joe Hulme, also coached by Dave McNulty and Graeme Antwhistle in the London 2012 Legacy Pool, won 200m backstroke gold in 2:01.12 and took silver in the 100m final.

Sports Performance student Jay Lelliott, a MJ Church sporting ambassador coached by Mark Skimming, claimed 200m freestyle gold in 1:48.71 and was runner-up in both the 200m butterfly and 400m freestyle.

World University Games champion Lelliott, supported by a Santander Sports Scholarship, also comfortably set the fastest time in the 1,500m freestyle of 15:04.97, 18 seconds quicker than his nearest challenger.

Training partner Anna Hopkin, a Sport & Exercise Science student, continued her impressive form during 2016 by winning a medal of each colour – 50m butterfly gold in 27.42, 50m freestyle silver and 100m freestyle bronze.

National Centre Bath swimmer Lizzie Simmonds was a silver-medallist in the 100m backstroke.

Four more National Centre Bath swimmers – Jazz Carlin, Siobhan-Marie O’Connor, Chris Walker-Hebborn and Andrew Willis – will be competing for Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games next week. Swimming runs from August 6-13.
