Sunday Lunch Review: A Sumptuous Sunday at The Architect, Bath
There’s nothing quite like a Sunday roast in Bath, especially when it’s served somewhere as beautiful and welcoming as The Architect. Our family recently enjoyed the most wonderful Sunday lunch there, and it’s safe to say it’s one of our new favourites!
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and friendly team who couldn’t have been more helpful. The service was seamless throughout, relaxed yet attentive, and the atmosphere was spot-on for a family Sunday. The restaurant itself is a stunning open space, filled with light and character, yet our cosy booth made the experience feel intimate and perfectly autumnal.
The food? Absolutely delicious.
I started with a beautifully cooked Squid, light and full of flavour, followed by an indulgent Porchetta roast, tender, perfectly seasoned, and served with all the trimmings. (we added a side of pigs in blankets and a Yorkshire pud because if you can’t indulge on a Sunday, when can you?) I couldn’t resist finishing with a classic Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was rich, comforting and everything you want from a Sunday dessert.
My husband opted for breaded Brie to start, then went all in with the mixed roast of Porchetta and Beef, finishing with his own serving of that irresistible Sticky Toffee Pudding (it really is that good!).
The kids were equally well catered for. One enjoyed the roast chicken followed by a gooey chocolate brownie, while the other tucked into spiced chicken wings, a juicy burger, and an affogato, proving that The Architect isn’t just for roast lovers. It’s great to see options beyond the traditional Sunday menu, especially for families with a few fussy eaters in tow!
Whether you’re looking for a relaxed family meal or celebrating something special, The Architect is a perfect choice. The combination of stunning décor, delicious food, and a genuinely lovely team makes it one of Bath’s standout spots for a Sunday feast.
We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit.
Highly recommended!
