England’s Number 1! No.1 Royal Crescent achieves Gold in VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025

It’s official, No.1 Royal Crescent in Bath is the best small visitor attraction in the country. The historic house museum and gallery, run by Bath Preservation Trust, achieved the Gold award in the ‘Small Visitor Attraction of the Year’ category in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025, announced last week.

The VisitEngland Awards are the highest accolade for tourism businesses, which recognise a consistently high quality of visitor experience. Following a secret visit to the museum at an early stage in the process, a judge described No.1 Royal Crescent as: “A truly magical attraction that transports visitors back to the 1700s. The trail through the house tells a story of a fictional family, helping to engage visitors of all ages in the history of the property. It is clear that this small attraction delights all of its guests with its innovative interpretation and attention to detail.”

No.1 Royal Crescent is open from Tuesday to Sunday every week. Visitors can experience the Georgian house, with original furnishings, paintings and decorative art, and a unique immersive experience.
