Pride & Prejudice Returns to The Forum: Bath Celebrates 250 Years of Jane Austen
This autumn, Pride & Prejudice returns to The Forum’s big screen, as Bath celebrates 250 years since Jane Austen’s birth. Presented with FilmBath, this event honours one of Bath’s most famous residents.
This one-night event, on Friday, 19th September 2025, promises an unforgettable evening where Regency elegance meets silver-screen glamour.
Built in 1934 as a 1,600-seat “super-cinema”, The Forum once thrilled its audiences. On this special evening, the story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy will unfold beneath its Art Deco ceiling. Audiences can expect Austen’s wit, romance, and tension, elevated by Bath’s largest performance space, an atmospheric setting for her legacy.
More than a screening, the event lets guests step back in time. Regency or 1930s attire is warmly encouraged for this encore.
"We’re thrilled to be bringing Pride and Prejudice to The Forum, Bath’s original cinema, as part of the Jane Austen Festival. This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of Austen’s birth. Bath is forever entwined with her legacy, and there’s no better setting to enjoy this iconic story on the big screen, surrounded by fellow fans. It promises to be a truly special evening where literature, cinema, and the city’s heritage come together.” - Jasmine Barker, FilmBath Director
After a sold-out Bath Abbey event earlier this year, this screening gives Austen fans and cinema lovers another chance to celebrate in a remarkable venue.
Whether you’re an Austen devotee, film fan, or just enjoy Bath’s culture, don’t miss this evening.
