The Secret World of Flowers at Westonbirt Arboretum
A free family-friendly creative event at Westonbirt Arboretum where visitors can explore flowers through mindful observation, nature journalling and hands-on activities.
Using the beautiful grounds of Westonbirt Arboretum, families of all ages are invited to explore the Secret World of Flowers through mindful observation and journalling, guided by botanical artist and illustrator Katherine O'Shea. Visitors begin by creating their own journals from different papers and recycled materials, then head out into the grounds to fill the pages with sketches, collaged leaves and fallen petals. There will also be an instant camera, letter stamps and a typewriter to help families capture the day in a fun analogue way. Other activities include the Best Kept Secrets discovery challenge with a chocolate prize, creating hidden ultraviolet flower patterns, and different daily crafts across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
