Bath Rugby Launches Kit Recycling Scheme

Bath Rugby has teamed up with ground-breaking sports kit recycling scheme, LV= SOS Kit Aid, to launch an appeal to encourage young rugby players in Bath to donate their old kit to help give thousands of disadvantaged young people from around the UK and abroad.

On Saturday 16th November young rugby fans will get the chance to meet some of their Bath rugby heroes, and sign up to Bath Rugby’s Junior Membership Clubs.

Bath Rugby and LV= SOS Kit Aid ask that fans bring their old kit as they look to buy new for 2014. They will also be able to receive 30% off selected items at the Bath Rugby Shop between 12.00 and 14.00. All donated kit will be distributed to grass-roots rugby programmes in the UK and abroad that give disadvantaged young people a sporting chance.

Former Bath, England and British and Irish Lions forward Gareth Chilcott says: "As ambassador for LV= SOS kit aid, I am proud and humbled to give my support in giving less advantaged children a chance to play rugby around the world. These emerging rugby nations need your help, please donate your kit today."

LV= SOS Kit Aid, which has the backing of both Prime Minister, David Cameron and Sports Minister, Hugh Robertson, aims to make a positive and tangible impact on young people’s lives by removing one of the key barriers to sports participation. The scheme encourages schools, clubs, brands and the public to donate unwanted and second hand sports kit to give young people of all abilities and backgrounds better access to sport.

To make your donation, come along to the Bath Rugby Shop, 1 Argyle Street, Bath, BA2 4BA on 16 November between 12.00-14.00 and receive 30% off selected items.
