Introducing The Milsom

A brand-new gastro pub and boutique hotel in Bath city centr

A stunning grade II listed Georgian building on Milsom street is set to reopen as a bar and restaurant complete with nine luxury hotel rooms.

Welcoming guests from 2nd May The Milsom opens on the site of a former bank (and previously the Loch Fyne restaurant) having undergone a top-to-toe refurbishment sympathetic to its historic roots.

The Milsom will be a welcoming home-from-home where country retreat meets city chic. Two tone timber flooring will set the scene for a relaxed atmosphere while crackled leathers and contemporary artwork will sit alongside the original features of the building. In a nod to its previous life mirrored timber panelling, mosaic effect flooring and hints of brass all feature.

The restaurant has a grand and inviting feel to match the warm ambience of this lovely venue. The existing traditional bar front will be utilised and has been relocated into a more prominent location, becoming the focal point of the room. With added touches of brass and a striking arched back bar, it will be the showstopper and draw guests in from the entrance.

The Milsom will offer a mouth-watering modern classic menu that is filled with fresh and seasonal dishes perfect for all taste buds. Snacks include a Salt Beef Scotch Egg with kimchi aioli, Thai Prawn Toast and Warm Sourdough with Whipped Feta, pistachio, chimichurri. For those who like to share, antipasti style plates include; Charcuterie Board; mortadella, coppa, salami served with mixed pickles and salted crackerbread or a Whole Baked Camembert with a filo crust, smoked garlic, black truffle honey and almonds. Starters range from Crispy Lamb Belly with cherry molasses and pea salsa verde, Laverstock Buffalo Mozzarella with grilled artichokes and sour cherry harissa to a classic 80s dish of Crayfish & Prawn Cocktail.

The main menu is deeply enticing with Tiger Prawn Linguine, Aged Ayrshire Pork Cutlet with Truffle potato and a carrot and apricot chutney, plus a Sweet Potato & Black Bean Salad. The menu also features classics such as Fish & Chips, Burger and Rib-eye Steak (with all the sauces). Sweet-toothed diners can finish off with Sticky Toffee Pudding with butterscotch sauce or a Dark Chocolate Mousse with honeycomb and coffee salt.

Why not treat someone special to a classic afternoon tea, featuring sandwiches, scones and cakes, designed to be enjoyed by two. There is also a tasty Sunday Roast Menu, Full Breakfast Menu, Kids Menu and a Set Menu for guests to explore and enjoy.

A thoughtfully curated drinks offering features wines from around the world and bespoke cocktail menu with signature cocktails including Dolce Vita Spritz; amaro santoni, prosecco and soda Water, Flower Market Sour; Hendricks gin with lychee

liqueur and a Darjeeling and jasmine syrup topped with lemon juice and prosecco and Rum Dance; Havanna Spiced Rum, Bacardi carta blanca, watermelon syrup, lime juice, vanilla and topped with pineapple juice.

A complete overhaul of both the ladies and gents washrooms has been carried out to create a timeless design with a twist. The ladies will have coral pink fish scale raw edged wall tiles which will sit beautifully next to brass finishes and the vintage style vanity unit. Whilst the gents will receive the olive green version. To create the wow, factor a dramatic abstract wallpaper will run from the wall tiles and onto the entire ceiling creating the perfect instagrammable spot.

The brand-new designed bedrooms promise another level of luxury and comfort. Classic fabrics will adorn the new headboards, whilst the accents of polished chrome, plush velvet and a rich, warm colour palette will elevate the rooms and create a homely feel. Striking ensuites will add opulence to the already grand rooms. Bramley products, luxury toiletries made in the British countryside will create a spa like feel. The Milsom will feature three suites each with the grandest of luxuries; a roll top bath.
