Sir Robert McAlpine Support Isles of Scilly to Land?s End Row Fundraising Challenge

Sir Robert McAlpine employee, Natalie Grose, is preparing to row from the Isles of Scilly to Land?s End in a Cornish gig to raise funds for the Bath Rugby Foundation.

Natalie, who has worked as a document controller for Sir Robert McAlpine for five years, is currently working onsite in Bridgwater helping to build a new community hospital.

Her fundraising efforts have received the full backing of her employers, who has raised awareness of the row across its vast network. In addition, Natalie’s project manager on site, John Chisholm, has called upon the support of members of the Sir Robert McAlpine supply chain to guarantee Natalie reaches her fundraising target.

Born in Falmouth, Natalie has been rowing since the age of 11 years old. She has regularly competed at world championship level and her teams have reached 11th in the world twice. Formerly with Falmouth Ladies for ten years, Natalie currently rows with Flushing and Mylor Gig Club.

Natalie Grose said, “The row from the Isles of Scilly to Land’s End has been something I've always wanted to do and it feels great to be doing it for such a worthy cause".

Mark Williamson, Sir Robert McAlpine Regional Manager for Wales & West, said, “We at Sir Robert McAlpine are all inspired by Natalie's commitment to this massive challenge. This opportunity highlights the strong relationship between Bath Rugby and Sir Robert McAlpine”.

Halena Coury, Head of Fundraising at Bath Rugby Foundation said, “We are delighted to have the support of Sir Robert McAlpine and Natalie behind us in this fundraising challenge. In particular, it is great to have a rower of Natalie’s skill to help lead our boats and I am sure there will be great competition amongst the other rowers on the day to try and secure a spot in the same gig as her!”

All the rowers undertaking this daunting challenge are doing so to raise much needed money for the Bath Rugby Foundation.

Donations to the Ultimate Row Challenge team can still be made by going to www.justgiving.com/Natalie-Grose1 or www.justgiving.com/brf.
