SOUTHGATE BATH EXTENDS SUPPORT FOR LOCAL CHARITIES

SouthGate Bath has announced that its popular giant giving box, originally installed for Christmas, will now be a permanent feature at the centre in a bid to help raise even more funds for its four charity partners, Age UK Bath & North East Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset Carers Centre, Dorothy House and Genesis Trust.

Located in SouthGate Bath’s ‘Secret Garden’, visitors can use contactless payment to easily donate £3 to the charity.

Age UK Bath & North East Somerset empowers older people in the area to live healthier, happier, and more independent lives, offering a wide range of services including financial support and social opportunities.

Bath and North East Somerset Carers’ Centre provides carers of all ages with the trusted information, advice and support they need to look after themselves, as well as the one they care for.

Dorothy House helps people facing a life-limiting illness, providing them with the comfort and security they need to cherish life. The team’s priority is to offer bespoke support to those that need it most, as well as help them to build a local network of family, friends and community.

Genesis Trust Bath supports homeless and vulnerable people in crisis across Bath and North East Somerset, providing help and encouragement as they seek improved wellbeing and positive change.

The giving box at SouthGate Bath has helped to raise more than £2,700 for the charities so far.

Guy Henderson, centre director at SouthGate Bath, said: “Our community really got behind the giving box at Christmas, and so we’re thrilled to announce that shoppers are able to continue supporting our charity partners quickly and safely when they come to visit.

“Donations are vital in ensuring the teams at all four of our charity partners can continue to provide their vital services in the local community. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our visitors for their donations.”

SouthGate Bath welcomed back visitors last week as it reopened its non-essential stores. The centre continues to have extra measures such as hand sanitising stations and enhanced cleaning regimes in place to help everyone enjoy a safe shopping experience.
