MATCH REPORT: Bath City 7-0 Wellington

Bath City whacked Wellington 7-0 in the Somerset Cup on Tuesday, with Nick McCootie scoring a hat-trick at Twerton Park.

Despite the huge scoreline, it took Bath until first-half stoppage time to get the first goal against Wellington - when Shaquille Hunter collected a through ball and slotted past the opposing goalkeeper.

The goals flew in during the second half however, starting with the first of three goals by McCootie.

McCootie made it 2-0 in the 50th minute with a superb turn and shot that ended in the back of the Wellington net to double Bath's lead.

On the hour mark, Josh Hutchinson backheeled in Bath's third and three minutes later Chas Hemmings curled home a free-kick.

In the 81st minute it was 5-0 courtesy of McCootie's second goal, a shot into the corner from ten yards out, and with four minutes left Saikou Janneh converted a cross for 6-0, Bath.

There was still time for goal number seven though with McCootie netting his hat-trick goal in the 87th minute with a drilled effort from the edge of the box.
