The Bird Summer Pop-Up Review

Independent boutique-style hotel 'The Bird', located only a short stroll away from Bath City Centre, is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for a chic, comfortable experience. We went to visit the special summer pop-up; 'The Nook Garden' which is open until the 29th of September, the perfect summer hang out for sipping cocktails and enjoying views of the city.

On arrival, I explored the reception area and stairway leading to the bedrooms. The interiors were stunning with lots of quirky, lavish touches. I particularly liked the massive sparkling mirror, chandeliers and the sweet corner! The setting was very 'Instagrammable', perfect for travellers and lifestyle enthusiasts.

Heading downstairs we were then welcomed by two members of the bar team, they lead us to the Nook Garden outside explaining that if it rained to come inside and we will be looked after.

The design was wonderful, with lots of flamboyant, exotic touches. I loved the colourful parasols, the quirky tree that reminded me of Harry Potter for some reason, and the beautiful flower arrangements. The garden offers fantastic views of Bath Abbey and beyond, it was very peaceful looking out towards the city. There is lots of seating making it perfect for groups to socialise.

The menu offered a range of pizzas, snacks and salads. We ordered two pizzas and the chicken burger with skinny fries. We ate inside as it started to rain (typical British weather), the dining area was again very stylish and colourful. The pizzas were delicious, perfect for sharing! The Chicken Burger was massive, (not mini as stated on the menu) a simple yet satisfying dish. For dessert, we ordered Strawberries and Cream, a classic British summertime treat.

The cocktails stood out for me, fresh ingredients with a nice strong alcoholic kick, the Cosmopolitan was definitely one of the best I have ever tasted! I wanted to try everyone on the menu!

Overall, the whole experience was very relaxed and unique. It was lovely spending time both outside and inside The Bird, it's nice to be able to visit and enjoy the facilities on offer without having to be a guest of the hotel. The Nook is open daily 12-11pm daily, be sure to pop by this Summer.
