Bath Racecourse Announce 2018 Fixtures, Including New Bath Cup Festival Weekend

Bath Racecourse has announced its fixture list for 2018, with 23 fixtures including the inaugural Bath Cup Festival, a race weekend designed to celebrate the city and its people.

The season will get underway on Good Friday, 30 March, with a high class card worth a total of £175,000 plus an action-packed day of entertainment for all the family. Other highlights to mark on the calendar include a new date for Ladies’ Day on 16 June plus Ladies’ Evening on 18 August, a Beer Festival Raceday on 20 April and a Cider Festival on 3 August, with the new Bath Cup Festival taking place on 15 and 16 September.

The racecourse will provide even more first class live entertainment in 2018 with the launch of ‘Live On The Lawn’ featuring internationally renowned artists plus local bands performing on race days. Multi award winning artists will be announced for live performances after racing on Friday 1 June and Saturday 15 September.

Russell Smith, Acting Executive Director of Bath Racecourse said: “We are extremely excited about the plans for the 2018 racing season and we hope to build on the success we have seen this year.

“We are focused on ensuring that we deliver a first-class experience for racegoers visiting Bath and as a result are aiming to make our entertainment at the racecourse bigger and better than ever. We want to give something back to our local community, and create something special for the city of Bath. We are tremendously excited to announce the inaugural Bath Cup Festival, which we hope will become a real celebration day for the city and the successes of the people that live here and in the surrounding areas. With top class racing and a headline live music performance on Saturday plus fairground rides and family entertainment on Sunday, the weekend has everything for all racegoers.”

The Bath Cup Festival is one of a number of community focused initiatives for the racecourse in 2018, which will also see many local schools coming to the racecourse to take part in curriculum-based learning activities, as well as a ‘kids take over’ of the Family Fun Day on the Bank Holiday 7 May. The initiative will see many young racegoers have the opportunity to be involved in behind the scenes activities on the race day.

Both general admission and hospitality tickets for all 2018 fixtures are available to purchase from Wednesday 22 November via the Bath Racecourse website, with tickets for the Bath Cup Festival going on sale in early December, following the announcement of the headline music act.

Further announcements about the Bath Cup and live music events are due to be made soon.
