About: From 18 October, those who dare to enter will experience the psychological paranoia of total darkness, confinement and an assault on all the senses as they venture over five floors of torment, whilst encountering hellish characters that tap into our most deep-seated fears…
After Dark – nights to die for challenges visitors to:
- Conquer 10 chambers in a 300-year-old house in total darkness.
- Navigate dream-state labyrinths, dead ends and confined spaces.
- Endure physical manifestations from the darkest corners of your subconscious.
- Venture into the foreboding underbelly of the building.
- Devour curious mind-bending shots in the bizarre Carnival Bar.
Date: After Dark will run at Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein from 18 October – 1 November 2025 on selected dates. Evening Escape Rooms, which include entry to After Dark horror nights, are also available.

Spooky Activities at Roman Baths

- 1 October- 2 November Spooky Spider Hunt at The Roman Baths. Hunt for spiders in this family trail and discover the Roman myth of Arachne and Minerva
- 27-31 October, 2-4pm Mosaic Makes. Drop in to a family craft session to make a spider or pumpkin mosaic. Included in entrance ticket
- 27-31 Oct, 11 am & 12pm Step into the boots of an archaeologist in our popular Archaeology Adventures (additional cost, pre-booking essential)
- 25 October – 2 November Sink your fangs into The Pump Room’s Spooktacular Halloween Tea, packed with eerie bites and ghostly delights, including a spooky spider cupcake.

Spooky Stories in the Grotto
Where: The Grotto & Paddock, Beckfords Tower, BA1 5TQ
About: Meet in the paddock above Beckford's Grotto for warming drinks and company round the fire; then descend into the Grotto to meet Ma Slater, who will tease and titillate you with twisted tales, finely spun from local knowledge for local people!

Timings: There is one children's session, starting at 5pm and lasting 40 minutes. There are three adult sessions, starting at 7pm, 7:30pm and 8pm. Please arrive on time for your session.
