Your Total Guide To entertainment
From 20 July to 31 August, the Roman Baths will stay open until 10pm each evening, giving visitors the chance to experience the ancient site after hours. As daylight fades, the Great Bath is illuminated by torchlight, creating a unique atmosphere as steam rises from the natural hot spring.
Throughout the summer, visitors can enjoy drinks from the bath-side bar while taking in views across the historic site. From Friday to Sunday, live entertainment adds to the atmosphere, with vinyl DJ sets curated in partnership with Bath Carnival on Fridays and Saturdays, and acoustic performances programmed by 7 Hills Festival on Sundays.
For those looking to delve deeper into the site's history, optional guided evening tours are also available at 6pm and 7pm, offering fascinating insights into one of Britain's best-preserved Roman remains.
Families visiting during the school holidays can also take part in Summer Quest: Reverse the Curse, running from 18 July to 31 August. Created in partnership with AQUILA magazine, the interactive trail invites younger visitors to follow clues and solve puzzles as they work to reverse an ancient Roman curse hidden within the site.
The summer programme also includes a range of additional family activities. Neptunalia craft sessions celebrate the Roman festival of Neptune through hands-on creative workshops, while Archaeology Adventures give children the chance to discover more about Roman life through interactive activities inspired by real archaeological discoveries. Early morning T'ai Chi on the Terrace sessions also return, offering visitors a peaceful way to start the day overlooking the Great Bath.
Whether you're visiting for the torchlit atmosphere, the weekend music programme or the family-friendly activities, the Roman Baths offers a memorable way to experience one of Bath's best-known landmarks throughout the summer holidays.
Summer Lates runs from 20 July to 31 August, with the Roman Baths open until 10pm daily. Live music takes place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while Summer Quest: Reverse the Curse runs from 18 July to 31 August and is included with admission. Optional guided evening tours are available to book in advance.
