TGtB Meets...Jamie Laing

We caught up with Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing at the launch of his latest Candy Kittens Pop-Up store in Milsom Place. The sweet toothed lothario chatted to us about why he loves Proudlock's style, where he likes to 'pardy' in Bath and his plans to sell sweets in space.

Chelsea is obviously a very fashionable place, how does Bath compare?

I love Bath, I think it's neck and neck with Chelsea. My cousins actually live in Bath, so I've spent a lot of time here. It's such a nice place to chill when you need to get out of London for a bit.

Have you been out in Bath? What do you think of the nightlife?

I've been out in Bath a couple of times and it's always been a good night out. Second Bridge is my favourite place to hang, great drinks, great girls - what more could you ask for?

What made you start your own business?

I started my own business because I didn't understand the concept of making other people rich. If you want to be successful, do it for yourself rather than for someone else.

How did you come up with the idea for Candy Kittens?

I was sitting in my theatre class at uni and I suddenly realised that acting and performing wasn't something that I could see myself doing for the rest of my life. After a bit of soul-searching, I decided that I love three things in this world; fashion, sweets and cute girls, so combined all three and created Candy Kittens.

You’ve been dubbed the ‘King of Sweets’ so if you were a sweet, which one would you be?

If I were a sweet, I'd be a Candy Kittens Sour Watermelon for sure - they're quite sugary but sometimes a little bit sour.

What do you love most about appearing in Made in Chelsea?

The best thing about the show is that I get paid to hang out with my buddies all day. I love my friends, so it's my dream job.

The MIC cast always look their best, but who do you think is the most stylish?

It's got to be my boy Proudlock. He's hands down the best dressed guy in Chelsea. I live with him and believe me, he takes absolutely ages picking an outfit in the mornings.

How would you describe your personal style?

I'm so chilled, my style is very relaxed. I underdress rather than overdress, but I've been told that it works.

What's next for Candy Kittens?

I want to open the first shop on the moon. Sweets in space, that's my dream. Can you imagine the launch pardy?
