The Garden Theatre Festival 2026 is now on sale! All set within the beautiful gardens of the Holburne Museum.

Sip a cooling drink under a warm sunset and relax on your rolled-out blanket, under the garden festival canopy, at Bath’s only open-air theatre. Bring your own chair or hire one of our festival deck chairs and enjoy Baths greatest summer theatre event.

Picnics welcome. Dogs can come too.

The Importance Of Being Earnest 2nd July - 12th July 2026

Meet Jack and Algernon, two dashing bachelors with a terrible habit of fabricating alter egos to escape boring social obligations and woo the ladies.

Everything is delightfully deceitful until they both fall head-over-heels for women who have one non-negotiable requirement for a husband: his name must be Earnest!

Prepare as the Garden Theatre Festival Repertory company take on mistaken identities, sharp-witted banter, outrageous social critiques, and the formidable Lady Bracknell! 

Will they untangle their web of lies or eat too many Cucumber Sandwiches?

Sense and Sensibility 14th July - 26th July 2026

Are you ready for a whirlwind of feathered bonnets, dramatic letter-writing, and deeply repressed feelings? Then look no further than Jane Austen’s classic tale, Sense and Sensibility.

When the kind-hearted and newly impoverished Dashwood sisters—pragmatic Elinor and passionately romantic Marianne—are forced to relocate to a tiny cottage, they find themselves navigating the treacherous social waters of Georgian England. Looking for a man with a pocket full of coins and a house with at least three pillars on the front; balls, banquets and proposals await!

A glorious, witty romp through emotional extremes,  foolish societal satire, dazzling ballroom dances, and some rather joyful multi-rolling. The show not to miss this summer!

 

Pop Up Event: 5th June 2026

The Garden Theatre Festival are proud to welcome back their friends The Three Inch Fools, for one night of theatre in June at this wonderful ‘Pop up’ event. Expect all the usual fantastic theatre of GTF, but a little less infrastructure. We won't have our usual tent for this event, and will also have a smaller number of deck chairs. With that in mind, please do bring your own seating and dress for the weather. The Fools turn up rain or shine.
